There’s Something To Be Said For Keeping It Natural

Over the weekend I watched the Nicholas Sparks film Dear John. Tear jerker right? But through my tears I couldn’t help but admire Savannah’s (Amanda Seyfried) easy and natural approach to beauty. That and Channing Tattum’s awesome abs.

There’s something so romantic about barely there makeup. Don’t you think?

Sometimes it’s easy to forget that, when it comes to makeup at least, less is more. I find this to be true most noticeably in winter when the trends lead us to darker lips and eyes.

It’s so easy to over do day time makeup (guilty), but why don’t we make the effort this winter to embrace our natural beauty? By all means play with a dark lip but work it with some mascara and not much else. Let’s try and take a leaf out of Savannah’s book and rock what we’ve got.

I for one have quit using foundation for work. A little concealer and Illuminator, paired with mascara, a hint of blush and a little lipstick and I’m as fresh as a daisy. Saves lots of time to!

So what do you think ladies?
